<Clean and bright community service center>  Muk1-dong Community service center was 30-year old building that had become deterorated. The low ceiling, dark lighting and turbid color coordination of finishing materials made it difficult task to turn it around to a clean and bright community service center. The L shaped public service desk was turned into a linear shaped desk to better use the space to expand waiting area. The dong chief’s office was moved to the second floor to create extra work spaces for public service and new staffs. Interior finishing such as the white wall and ceiling, brick tile and birch plywood, manufactured furniture with oak brushed wood made the interior much brighter and lighter. The community library on the second floor had a big bookcase right in the center of the room so the space usage was very limited. The bookcase was changed into a sliding bookcase so the space in the middle can be used more efficiently and the inside of the library was designed to accommodate the visitors to take their shoes off and enjoy a book while relaxing on the floor.
